How do I find my representatives?
Enter your ZIP code during onboarding or update it in Settings > Update Location. The app uses your address to identify your federal, state, and local representatives.
How does the rating system work?
You can rate representatives based on their actions and voting records. Ratings are anonymous and help the community understand how elected officials serve their constituents.
What does "real-world impact" mean?
Every political action is translated into plain language explaining how it affects your daily life, including estimated dollar impacts on your budget for things like healthcare, transportation, and taxes.
How do I contact my representatives?
Tap on any representative's profile and use the Contact button to send an email, make a phone call, or visit their official website directly from the app.
Is the app free?
Yes! Know Your Vote is completely free with all features available to every user. There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Does the app use AI? What data is shared?
The Political AI feature uses Anthropic's Claude AI to answer your political questions. When you use this feature, your message text, general location (city/state), and issue preferences are sent to Anthropic for processing. Your data is not stored by the AI provider beyond the conversation. You must consent before using this feature.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data, including ratings, preferences, and personal information. This action cannot be undone.
What is the party-blind design?
Know Your Vote hides representative party affiliations until after you rate them. This prevents partisan bias and encourages you to evaluate officials based on their actual actions and impact.
